Subject: [Facnet-l] A Bright Spot in My Grading

Hi, all:

Over the years, I have had undergraduates quake at first before the requirement that they write 1200-1500 word, closed-book essays during their two-hour finals, though most do okay, and some succeed quite well. This morning, I received the ne plus ultra, a 2700-word masterpiece: comprehensive (whew!), thoughtful, perceptive, even occasionally witty. She really nailed it.

I realize that I'm saying something all of us already know, but our best students really are among the very best. Happy finals week, everybody. And once the grading is done, have a great summer!
