<p class="MsoNormal"> Over the years, I have had undergraduates quake at first before the requirement that they write 1200-1500 word, closed-book essays during their two-hour finals, though most do okay, and some succeed quite well. This morning,
I received the <i>ne plus ultra</i>, a 2700-word masterpiece: comprehensive (whew!), thoughtful, perceptive, even occasionally witty. She really nailed it.
