From ASchmidt at csustan.edu Wed May 22 08:26:18 2019 From: ASchmidt at csustan.edu (Arnold Schmidt) Date: Wed, 22 May 2019 15:26:18 +0000 Subject: [Facnet-l] A Bright Spot in My Grading Message-ID: Hi, all: Over the years, I have had undergraduates quake at first before the requirement that they write 1200-1500 word, closed-book essays during their two-hour finals, though most do okay, and some succeed quite well. This morning, I received the ne plus ultra, a 2700-word masterpiece: comprehensive (whew!), thoughtful, perceptive, even occasionally witty. She really nailed it. I realize that I'm saying something all of us already know, but our best students really are among the very best. Happy finals week, everybody. And once the grading is done, have a great summer! -- Arnold -------------------------------- http://www.csustan.edu/english/schmidt/index.html https://www.routledge.com/British-Nautical-Melodramas-18201850-1st-Edition/Schmidt/p/book/9781138751040 http://us.macmillan.com/byronandtherhetoricofitaliannationalism/ArnoldSchmidt http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0772830/ https://www.dramatistsguild.com/members/arnoldschmidt/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
