Lynn and Peter:
Will the assessment of eCollege be constrained to consideration of the platform, or will the processes behind its implementation also be put under the microscope? Some of our faculty have voiced concern with respect to the degree with which area faculty were consulted before some business courses were offered. Some of us are worried that the evaluation of the online program may be too narrowly focused on the software end. If there are perceived problems in consultation, now may be the correct time to address (or at least measure) them, as well.
I hope this is an appropriate topic for discussion on FACNET.

Subject: eLearning Survey - Please Participate
The UEPC has requested that we compare readily accessible platforms for offering on-line courses at CSU, Stanislaus. As part of this
comparison, we have been asked to evaluate the ease with which faculty are able to access and use each platform for their desired purposes.
The platforms selected for evaluation are Blackboard, eCollege, and Moodle.
To assist us with this evaluation, we are requesting that you take a few minutes to complete a brief survey which solicits input about your
experience utilizing each platform to offer courses on-line. We greatly appreciate your cooperation; your input will help CSU, Stanislaus
identify the platform(s) which best meets our needs at a reasonable cost.
The survey is available online at:
http://ir.csustan.edu/cgi-bin/rws3.pl?FORM=ELearningFacultySurvey <http://ir.csustan.edu/cgi-bin/rws3.pl?FORM=ELearningFacultySurvey>
Your responses are being collected and analyzed by the Office of Institutional Research. Please be assured you will remain anonymous and your responses will be kept confidential. Data will be presented in aggregate. If you previously experienced technical difficulties please try again. If you completed the survey and received confirmation, thank you very much for your participation. If you have any questions regarding the survey's administration or experience a problem in completing it, please email ir at csustan.edu or call 209-667-3281 for assistance. Thank you very much.
Regards,
Lynn Johnson
